"Today I just want to rest for a thousand beats; because today I will compose, in my own way, a samba about the infinite."
Wave 04:31
Manha de Carnaval (Morning of the Carnival) Such a beautiful morning, A new song in life telling me of your eyes, your smile and hands. There shall be a day in which you will become the sound of my guitar.
I'll only put bebop in my samba when Uncle Sam grabs a pandeiro and a zabumba and learns that samba is not a rhumba!
San Vicente 04:08
American heart, I woke from a strange dream. A taste of glass and cut, a flavour of chocolate - In the body and in the city, a taste of life and death.
Michelle 02:37
Why lie so, if you know that I know you don't want me? You know that I want you despite being betrayed by your sincere hate Or by your false love...
About - Deals with the rapid expansion of Rio de Janeiro when Notheasterners came to look for work in the new capital. The resulting Favelas in and around the spectacular topography of Rio are regularly doused by heavy rains, often in March, leaving the inhabitants at the mercy of mudslides. A song of survival.
Portuguese and English - A guitar, this love I feel, And a song to make the one you love happy... From my window I see the Corcovado Statue on the top of the mountain How beautiful! This is how I want life to always be: You close to me... For only after meeting you I found out the meaning of happiness.
Whoever believed in love In the smile and in the flower Daydreamed and lost their peace of mind... Whoever after all the suffering returned to love To the smile, to the flower Found the reason for everything Because the hurt itself led them To the end of suffering
Berimbau 04:24
He who does not venture out from within himself Will die without loving anyone The wealth of a man who gives nothing away Comes from the labour of those who have none If a Capoeirista is good, then he won't fall But if he falls, he'll do it elegantly
Love her mother earth all the things she does with such delight Know when she tells you her season is right Love her sweet mother earth
Pain belongs to the one in pain. It is my trophy, It's what's been left. If I no longer have my love, I have my pain.
A samba that sirs us in our bodies An idle wind swaying the flower Dream of mine.

This intimate duo CD ‘Three Shadows of Blue’ interprets Jobim and other pioneers of Bossa Nova with just voice and guitar delving into the essence of this subtle yet rich repertoire. This album received arts critics awards in both the USA and Australia.
“De Vries and Clark feel the music of Brazil down to their bones. His guitar is full of romance and her voice is so intimate it could make you blush. Australia may be halfway around the world from Brazil but you'd never know it from listening to their CDs“ Cadence Magazine [USA].
