Co-written with Doug de Vries. Amandinha "Began it’s evolution in 2005 when Doug (my husband, collaborator and guitarist) undertook to write a composition a day for 6 months. I overheard him writing an instrumental piece for his daughter Amanda’s birthday. The melody morphed and hooked into my heart, I knew I needed to follow this one through. I tried writing the lyrics for a long time but they were too mushy. Doug helped crystallise it with the line 'feather in the air, let it take you there'. Lisa Miller (via Push songs) helped me realise the song was going to work, and it was time to record it. I premiered it along with my band ‘The Sunny Set’ at Melbourne Fringe in 2011. The piano on the recording is the guide track and I assumed I’d go back to re-record, but the fragility works to symbolise the apprehension of a parent as their child is gearing up to leave home…"
